April - June '93 Vuja Dey   (Studio Outtakes)

1CD SB EX

      Pensacola Civic Center, Pensacola, Florida
1-18-94      First Part Of Counters

2CD SB EX

This show is the Rehearsals for the "Counterparts Tour". For some reason there are a few built in 1 and 2 second gaps, but IMO they are there to better represent a "Dress Rehearsal" in which Geddy would have talked to the audience between the songs.

      Pensacola Civic Center, Pensacola, Florida
1-22-94     Northern Heroes

2CD X AD VG-

1-22-94      The Speed Of Life

2CD X AD VG+

There is some of CD1, track 11, "Limelight", missing right after the start. Less than 30 seconds is all though. These shows are from the opening night of the tour

1-22-94   First Impressions

2CD AD EX-

The intro and a good minute of "Tom Sawyer" are missing. (DAT Clone)

Kiefer U.N.O. (University Of New Orleans) Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana
1-23-94                      Gangster Of Boats   (With the Red Back insert)

2CD X AD VG+

1-23-94 Gangster Of Boats   (With the Pink Back insert)

1-28-94          In A Phosphorescent Wave

2CD AD EX-

Pan American Center (Pan Am Center/Pandemonium Center)
(New Mexico State University), Las Cruces, New Mexico
1-31-94        This Is How We Do It

2CD AD VG+

1-31-94               Las Cruces De Fuego Santo

2CD (SHN) AD EX-

In audio CD format, this is a 2CD show. This is a lower EX-. CD1, track 4, "Analog Kid", at 2:40, there are a couple of scratchy type of noises. They almost sound like when a stereo knob is dusty and gets turned.

San Diego Sports Arena, San Diego, California
2-7-94          Sounds Of Science

2CD (UI) AD EX-

There are spots that sound like LP pops, but are actually someone clapping every so often to the beat of the music, and to cheer. CD1, track 12, at 3:54, the last 2 seconds of the song repeats itself.

      Selland Arena, Fresno, California
2-8-94            Nuts & Bolts   (CD2 is bad)

2CD AD EX-

CD1, track 1, "Dreamline", is rough, and has a small edit at 2:02. CD1, track 5, "Time Stand Still", at 4:00, has a milisecond of no music with no click, and again at 5:22 & 5:44. Same for CD1, track 8, "Animate", at 3:30, 4:31 & 6:39, so it must exist on the Master CD-R's. CD2 has digital noise on track 7 that lasts from 3:11 - 3:32. This would NOT exist on the Master!

      ARCO Arena, Sacramento, California
2-10-94    Kings For A Night

2CD AD EX-

This is a very nice sounding EX-.

San Jose Arena (Shark Tank), San Jose, California
2-12-94                    A Nice New Building

2-12-94 A Nice New Building

Sorry about the delay in rating & commenting on this show. Will get to it soon. (1-21-10)

      The Omni, Atlanta, Georgia
2-24-94     Lightning Reactions

2CD AD VG+

2-24-94      Cold Fire In Hotlanta

2CD AD EX-

The crowd near the taper can get a little enthusiastic. This is an interesting show to rate. Overall it gets my EX-, but bass wise is VG+ at best. Geddy's vocals are EX. Everything else gets an EX-.

2-24-94      Atlanta's Heroes

2CD (UI) AD EX-

This is another show in which saying which version is better is tough, but in my opinion the edge goes to "Cold Fire In Hotlanta", because I think it has a better bass mix, although not as bright. The rest of the mix has one show being better in some frequencies, where as the other is better in other frequencies.

      Charlotte Coliseum, Charlotte, North Carolina
2-25-94         Leave That Beehive Alone

2CD AD EX-

There is low volumed talking pretty much throughout. To me it's 1-2 notches below annoying, and I can't really understand what is being said. This show ends a few seconds into "The Trees".

Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, Jacksonville, Florida
3-2-94          Come To A Standstill

2CD X AD VG+

      Thunderdome, St. Petersburg, Florida
3-4-94           Storm In St. Petersburg

2CD X AD VG+

Madison Square Garden, New York/Manhattan, New York
3-8-94        At The Big Apple

3CD X AD VG+

The 3rd CD is the opening act, "Candlebox". I will break up the set if you would like.

3-8-94                The Big Apple Box   (Part 1 of 2)

2CD AD EX-

This is a 2 Date/4CD set. I will break up the set if you would like.

Madison Square Garden, New York/Manhattan, New York
3-9-94            At The Big Apple Part 2

2CD X AD VG+

3-9-94 Closer To Our Heart

1CD X AD EX-

3-9-94                 The Big Apple Box   (Part 2 of 2)

2CD AD EX-

This is a 2 Date/4CD set. I will break up the set if you would like.

      Centrum in Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts
3-11-94   A Tale Of Two

2CD SB EX-

3-11-94        Welcome To Our Town

2CD SB EX

Part of "Time Stand Still" is missing. This show ends after 7:28 into "The Rhythm Method".

The Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Michigan
3-22-94            Critical Mass

2CD X (Proshot Video Feed) EX

This is a complete show.

      Richfield Coliseum, Richfield, Ohio
3-23-94        A Farewell To Richfield

2CD AD EX-

CD1, track 8, "Roll The Bones" has a click 1 second after the track change. Geddy's vocals are a little tinny, otherwise this would have received an EX.

      Rosemont Horizon, Rosemont, Illinois
3-29-94   Tuxedo Tuesday

2CD AD VG+

      Dane County Coliseum, Madison, Wisconsin
4-2-94  Nuts & Bolts

2CD SB EX

4-2-94  Cool Dream

2CD X SB EX

The edge here goes to "Cool Dream". This version does have the intro and the first song seperately indexed, however this does not appear on the inserts, thus we get an incorrect track list. A minor price to pay for an SB EX show.

      Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota
4-8-94            The Wilderness Of Mirrors

2CD AD VG+

The first few songs are recorded a little too high, as well as a couple of other spots. The other spots only last for a few seconds at a time. The crowd noise is present, but it's not too bad, although it is worth mentioning.

The MARK of the Quad Cities (Q-C Arena/The Mark/Moline Civic Arena), Moline, Illinois
4-9-94                 The Countershmeg Show/Moline

2CD X AD VG+

The way the company that released this show came up with the title is rather interesting. Alex announces the song "Stick It Out" as being from the "Counterparts" release in Russia, and he pronounced it in Russian as "Countershmeg".

4-9-94                 Between Country And Western

2CD (UI) AD EX-

Buffalo Memorial Auditorium (The Ogg), Buffalo, New York
4-18-94         Leave That Buffalo Alone

2CD AD VG+

Here is a bit of the human side of "RUSH". During the show Geddy starts to announce the next song as "Nobody's Hero", a Country & Western song, but Alex picks out a couple of notes, and Geddy realizes immediately that he messed up, then just as fast he recovers in a funny way to announce the next song correctly. Part of CD2, track 8, "Xanadu", has the bottom end Bass becomes very light. There are some tracks missing, and a track or two were cut short. This is a very high VG+, but still just shy of EX-.

4-18-94        Barreling Over The Edge

2CD AD EX-

Geddy this night had laryngitis. For the high notes and the ones needing power, this doesn't seem to affect his singing. There are times when the crowd talking can get annoying, but not always. This version of this date is the better of the 2.

      Civic Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
4-20-94  Animated Steel

2CD AD EX-

      USAir Arena, Largo/Landover, Maryland
4-26-94         Darkness And Light

1CD X SB EX

4-26-94 Lock, Stock And Barrelled

2CD X AD VG

4-26-94        A Darker Light

2CD AD/EX- & SB/EX

The way this show was released was that CD1 contains the AD part, and CD2 has the SB part. This makes CD2, 80:21 long. Because of the length of CD2, some CD players may not be able to read the CD-R I would have to burn. Putting all 80:21 onto 1CD-R would require that I do what is called an "overburn", and I would not do that to you. What I think is best is that I place the first 3 tracks from the SB part of the show onto CD1. Of course, I would do this without any editing or anything else so that the SB parts could be put back together without any hassle or loss of one bit of information. By breaking up CD2, you will be able to get this show on 2CD-R's still. Otherwise it will require a 3rd CD-R. How the tracks are broken up is up to you. "Darkness & Light" is still a great sounding show, but this version is better overall.

Parc Downsview Park (SARS Benefit Concert), Toronto, Ontario, Canada &
                                USAir Arena, Largo/Landover, Maryland
7-30-03 & 4-26-94          Different Shows Live

2CD X CD1 AD VG+, CD2 SB EX-

7-30-03 is a high VG+, and 4-26-94 is a high EX-.

      Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
4-29-94          A Night At The Spectrum

2CD X SB EX+

The rating says it all. It's that good!!! This is a "Watch Tower" release, so sadly the encore has been intentionally left off.

War Memorial Coliseum, Rochester, New York
5-4-94                       The Rochester Trilogy - Part 3!   (of 3)

2CD (UI) AD VG+

This show was recorded a little too high in the left channel. This show is a high VG+, but could arguably be a low EX-.

Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
5-7-94         Animated

2CD X SB EX+

5-7-94 Mistress Of The Dark

2CD X SB EX+

These 2 shows are from the final night of the tour. Sadly, they are both missing the encore. "Mistress Of The Dark" is better version of this date.
