10-18-96             Echoes On The Stages   (Rehearsals)

3CD X SB EX

Not sure what to say. This show is one for nearly all "RUSH" fans!!! There are many things that occur during this rehearsal that are very unique to us, and show us RUSH's lighter side. Don't want to ruin it for you, so I will stop here. This is a "Watch Tower" release, so sadly the encore has been intentionally left off.

      Knickerbocker Arena, Albany, New York
10-19-96    Never Stands Still

2CD X AD VG+

10-19-96  Initial Reflections

3CD AD EX

Part of CD1, track 1, "Dreamline", at the beginning is missing. There are some spots where clipping occurs during some of the cheering. Other than that it sounds great!

Grand Center: Van Andel Arena, Grand Rapids, Michigan
10-23-96  No Title

3CD NI AD VG

As with nearly all bootleg releases, there are inherint flaws. This show was recorded a little too high. We get a fuzzy yet only slightly compressed sound because of this. There are spots with tiny gaps with CD1, track 13, the last minute or so having about a dozen of them. This was also the last track of CD1. This show is a semi high VG.

      United Center, Chicago, Illinois
10-28-96  Echo

3CD X AD VG+

CD2 is just plain weird. It has part of "Tom Sawyer" missing toward the beginning. A couple of tracks are ended early and started again later, but not at the same spot they were at before. The drum solo is cut off early.

      Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota
10-29-96                  Individually, We Are A Ass, But Together, We Are Genius

3CD X AD VG+

      Kiel Center, St. Louis, Missouri
10-31-96  Greatest Show

3CD X AD VG+

      Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
11-1-96     Milwaukee's Best

3CD AD EX

There are a couple of spots where the music drops out for less than a second with no clicks, meaning these spots exist on the Master CD-R's. There are also 2 spots where the sound quality changes as if a button was hit by accident by the taper.

      Civic Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
11-3-96    Echoes For Test

2CD AD VG+

11-3-96    Vishnu & Gaia

3CD AD VG+

There is a delayed double bounceback off of the venues interior walls that is clearly noticeable. Oddly it is only from one instrument. I believe it is from the snare drum, and is primarily out of the right channel. Because of this annoying sound, my rating is lower than other peoples. I have seen this listed as EX-/EX. Without the bounceback I would have given it an EX-. This version of this date is from a different taper than "Echoes For Test", and is 20 minutes longer.

      Gund Arena, Cleveland, Ohio
11-4-96  Test It

3CD X AD VG

      CoreStates Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
11-6-96             Is There Anybody Out There?

3CD X AD VG

      US Airways Arena, Largo/Landover, Maryland
11-7-96     An Absolut Rush

3CD AD EX+

CD2, track 5, "Test For Echo", has a couple of spots where people must have been walking by, because the sound becomes muddy, but not for long. There are a couple of other songs where this occurs, but each time is very quick. Although I gave this show an EX+, Geddy's vocals are only EX due to they are a little tinny. Don't let my comments keep you from this show, it is worth picking up!

      Hartford Civic Center, Hartford, Connecticut
11-10-96   Reverberate

2CD (SHN) AD VG

In audio CD format, this is a 3CD show. A couple of interesting things happen during this show. We get to hear the taper tell someone to sit down, and a near brawl ensues. During this, the microphone(s) get messed with, and even dropped a couple of times. All the microphone problems last about 4 minutes.

San Jose Arena (Shark Tank), San Jose, California
11-20-96   Escape From Canada

San Diego Sports Arena, San Diego, California

Thomas & Mack Arena, UNLV (University Of Nevada, Las Vegas), Las Vegas, Nevada
11-24-96   Thomas & Mack

3CD X AD VG

      America West Arena, Phoenix, Arizona
11-29-96  Virtual Songs

3CD X AD VG+

Tracks 7-14, are bonus tracks on CD3, from 12-12-81, Freedom Hall, Johnson City, Tennessee, that I rate AD VG+.

11-29-96  Virtual Worlds

3CD AD VG+

Tracks 5 & 6, on CD3, are from Hospitality Point, San Diego, California on 5-7-97. Tracks 7-16, on CD3, are from 12-12-81, Freedom Hall, Johnson City, Tennessee, that I rate AD VG.

11-29-96      Rising From The Ashes

3CD AD EX-

There is low leveled talking that is somewhat throughout the entire show. This show is the best version of this date.

UTEP Special Events Center, El Paso, Texas
11-30-96                       Special Songs And Some Psychiatric Treatment

3CD (FLAC) AD VG+

In audio CD format, this is a 3CD show. This show is a lower VG+. There are times this show was recorded too high, thus giving us a fuzzy buzzing sound.

      The Summit, Houston, Texas
12-5-96         The Summit Board

3CD SB EX

12-5-96 Some Kind Of Drama

3CD SB EX

12-5-96 Bigger & Better In Texas

3CD NI SB EX+

12-5-96                Bigger & Better In Texas - Remastered

3CD SB EX+

All 3 "Bigger & Better In Texas" titled shows have identical track times, but two of them do sound different from each other, but not by much. This one sounds like the "Titanium Version".

12-5-96                    Bigger & Better In Texas! - Titanium Version

3CD SB EX+

This version of this date is the best, but not by very much. In fact, if you cannot locate the "Titanium Version", there really would be no need to hold off from getting it until you find this one.

Kiefer U.N.O. (University Of New Orleans) Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana
12-6-96      Seasonal Migrations

3CD AD VG+

      Ice Palace Arena, Tampa, Florida
12-9-96         Musical Messiahs

2CD (SHN) AD VG

In audio CD format, this is a 3CD show. CD2, track 2, "Test For Echo", the recording level at the very beginning is really high. The whole show was recorded a little too high. There is also a sound that sounds like someone keeps tapping the left channel microphone very lightly.

Continental Airlines Arena (Meadowlands Arena), East Rutherford, New Jersey
12-15-96        Dances With The Moon

3CD X AD VG+

      Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View, California
5-11-97             To Hear Amazing Things...

3CD AD EX-

5-11-97 Mountain View

3CD NI AD EX-

GM (General Motors) Place, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
5-16-97           Cry For The Moon

2CD (SHN) AD VG+

In audio CD format, this is a 3CD show. Since I have this show in SHN format, any clicks ect., exist on the Master CD-R's. With that said, CD1, track 8, at 2:04, has a flash of music missing. Same CD, track 2, at 10:40, there is one click. CD2, track 3, at 00:41, has a digital skip.

      Gorge Amphitheatre, George, Washington
5-17-97   The Gorge

3CD NI AD VG-

The entire show has phasing, and the audience level ranges from barely tolerable to sadly, pretty loud.

      Sandstone Amphitheatre, Bonner Springs, Kansas
6-7-97          Between Two Extremes

3CD AD EX-

Deer Creek Music Center, Noblesville, Indiana
6-10-97    A Noble Effort

3CD AD VG+

6-10-97     Noblesville '97

3CD NI AD VG+

This show plays a little slow. CD1, track 9, is cut short by a few seconds is all.

New World Music Theatre, Tinley, Illinois
6-14-97        Road Tested (2nd Leg)

2CD AD VG+

CD1, track 3, at 3:22, there is a sound that is similar to a zap. It lasts a fraction of a second is all.

6-14-97  O' Chicago

3CD AD EX

There is some talking during songs, but it is pretty low, and you can't understand what they are saying. CD3, track 4, the sound changes for about 2 minutes. This change is actually a better quality.

PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel, New Jersey
6-19-97    Gangster Nation

3CD AD VG+

Blockbuster/Sony Entertainment Centre, Camden, New Jersey
6-22-97   The Other Half

3CD AD EX-

6-22-97     Driven To The Edge

3CD AD EX-

CD2 doesn't start playing for 4-5 seconds. CD2, track 7, sounds muddy from 4:09 - 4:30. I think the recording volume was accidentally turned down. There is a medium volumed pop around 2:45 during the "The Rhythm Method". Then there are a few more on "Natural Science" and "Force Ten", as well as a few other tracks.

6-22-97                Driven To The Edge - Platinum Edition

3CD AD EX

There are 5 quick pops during one of the songs on CD2.

Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts, Mansfield, Massachusetts
6-23-97            Great Woods And Summer Skies

3CD SB EX+

      Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
6-30-97  Stolen Signals

3CD (SC) EX-

This sounds to me like Alex's microphone, and Neil's drums were what was picked up by the scanner. There is a ringing noise on CD3, "Tom Sawyer", that ends after about 1 minute and 45 seconds.

6-30-97                     An Evening With Rush

3CD X (SC) CD1 & CD2 EX-, CD3 VG-

For both versions, CD2, track 1, "The Trees", is an unplugged version sort of, because Alex's acoustic guitar wasn't being amplified for the first part of this song. Later in the show on both versions, they have a lot of clicking noises that also drop out the music for a flash. CD3, both have a loud ringing that starts shortly into "Tom Sawyer" and lasts until 1:43. The clicking noises on CD3 are the reason for a VG- rating, otherwise it too was EX-. The only difference I can hear between these 2 versions is that "An Evening With Rush" has a lower output volume. Since this show seems to sound better at a higher volume, I would get "Stolen Signals".

      Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
7-2-97                Stretch Drive

3CD AD EX-

7-2-97 Stretch Drive - Platinum Edition

3CD AD VG+

The volume drops for a few seconds around the 6 minute mark during the drum solo. There are a handfull of spots on CD3 where the music drops out very briefly.
