1CD X AD EX-

??-??-91 or 92   Rush Hour (Greatest Hits Live)

1CD X SB EX+

The notes on the artwork says tracks 1, 2, 8 & 9, were recorded in the USA in 1989. Tracks 3-7 & 10-16 were recorded in the USA on 1992. However, RUSH did not play in 1989, so I am not sure what the actual year is for this portion of this show.

??-??-91 or 92 Run Faster

The above 2 shows are well known as being from 4-17-92, but after further inspection I have found this to be untrue. The actual date is now a mystery.

10-25-91   Prepare For Tour

2CD X AD EX-

This is opening night for the tour. During CD1, all of track 3, until 3:15, on track 4, the taper was having trouble with the microphone(s). Around the 3 minute mark on track 4, CD1, there is one very, very loud undesirable noise. Let me put it this way...It scarred the heck out of me, and it happens bad one more time for 4 seconds on CD1, track 6, from 4:31 - 4:35. Sounds like either a switch was hit by accident that allowed for the tape to keep recording, but not recording the music, or the microphone(s) were accidentally unplugged while still thinking it was taping the show.

10-25-91      Plastic Guitar

2CD (UI) (SC & AD) G

This scanner recording was taken from Alex's guitar feed. The AD part is very much in the background. The scanner isn't turned on until track 2. Alex's guitar is out of the left channel and overwhelmes this release. The AD part cuts in and out every few seconds, almost continually. However we are graced with none of this between tracks. This is a very hard show to listen to!!!

10-26-91                    The Rochester Trilogy - Part 2!   (of 3)

2CD (UI) AD EX-

Although I gave this show an EX-, it just barely gets it. There is some clipping in the left channel, but not every song or every second of every song does it occur.

      Market Square Arena, Indianapolis, Indiana

This show is a high VG.

1CD X AD VG+

11-1-91         A Chicago Dreamline

2CD AD EX-

CD2, track 1, at 2:57, until the end of the show, the sound changes quite a bit because it is from a 2nd source. Both sources sound better than "Live One" / "Live Two".

      Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota
11-3-91  No Title

2CD NI AD VG

As with nearly all bootleg releases, there are inherint flaws. There are several spots with small skips, and the microphone(s) are messed with a few times as well.

      Omaha Civic Auditorium, Omaha, Nebraska
11-4-91  No Title

2CD NI AD VG-

As with nearly all bootleg releases, there are flaws. This show starts off rough, then on CD1, track 1, from around 3:00 until 4:21, and again on CD2, from around 3:00 to about 3:45, there is digital clicking. CD1, track 7, 3:28, there is a 1 second gap and the song ends early. CD2, tracks 7 & 8 are weird because they contain the same 2 songs with "Roll The Bones" not being the entire song. The segway into track 8 is abrupt, with track 7 ending suddenly. Where as the segway from track 8 - 9 is faded out. All of this is believed to have been on the Master CD-R's. This show was recorded too high, thus we get the fuzzy compressed sound, although the compression amount is about medium.

St. Louis Arena (Old Barn), St. Louis, Missouri
11-7-91     Row The Boats

2CD X SB EX+

      Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
11-10-91  No Title

2CD NI AD VG

As with nearly all bootleg releases, there are inherint flaws. This show includes the soundcheck from the same night, which has a very distant sound, and I rate it AD VG-. As with nearly all bootleg releases, there are inherint flaws. CD1, track 8-9, has a rough edit. CD1, track 11, 2:49 - 2:57, the music cuts out completely. (Master)

The Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Michigan
11-14-91  No Title

2CD NI AD VG-

As with nearly all bootleg releases, there are inherint flaws. CD2, track 1, until track 3, 3:13, the recording level was too high.

      Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
12-3-91    Renewed Faith

2CD X AD VG

There are 2 back to back clicks on CD2, track 9, at 00:35. Since my copy is 1st gen, these clicks belong.

Madison Square Garden, New York/Manhattan, New York
12-7-91  The Fly

1CD X AD VG

12-7-91 Live USA

1CD X AD VG+

12-7-91             Garden Road

2CD SB EX+

12-7-91 Big Money Meets The Big Apple

2CD SB EX+

"Garden Road" (GR) is almost a complete show. Only about the first 10 seconds of track 1, "Force Ten", is missing, but the song still seems to be complete. "Big Money Meets The Big Apple" (BMMTBA) is a "Watch Tower" release, so the encore is missing, but does have the intro as well as the last little bit of the song that was playing on the sound system prior to the boys coming out to perform. "GR" has more of a punch, yet isn't as clear as "BMMTBA". "BMMTBA" has better seperation of the instruments which gives it a richer, fuller sound and gets my vote for the better sound quality.

Providence Civic Center, Providence, Rhode Island
12-9-91           No Title   (2nd Source)

1CD NI AD VG+

This show is a low VG+. This is the first half of the show and is from a different taper than the other "12-9-91 No Title" I have. The other 12-9-91 is 2CD's, but this one has better sound quality. I haven't listened to it yet other than to do a source and quality comparison.

      Centrum in Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts
12-10-91       Back By Poplular Demand

2CD AD VG

Even though for some this may be hard to hear, there is a sound throughout that I cannot quite put my finger on what it is. It could be a few things. One of which is this show was recorded too high, but I really don't think this is it even though that is what I thought until CD1, track 7. What I am now 99.999% sure is that this is bounce back from the drums off the concert walls in the arena. I believe this would happen for the snare drum. Then again, it has the sound of someone hitting the backs of bolted down plastic chairs or like a few people are clapping the drum beat slightly off in the distance, and they do it every song. When this noise isn't a problem I give it an EX-, but when it is present (which it is most of the time), I must give it the overall rating shown.

Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
12-16-91             Home Again - Platinum Edition

2CD AD VG

This show has tape hiss, and it was recorded a little too high. At times there is talking around the taper that can be a bit much, but it's okay overall. There is a bonus Interview with all three members that is 17:21 long.

2CD AD EX-

Starting at track 10, on CD1, the sound deteriorates by being recorded too high. What we get from this is a fuzzy distorted, and slightly compressed sound. This problem goes away after a few songs into CD2.

2-23-92                  No Title   (Raw Source Incirculated)

2CD NI AD VG-

As with nearly all bootleg shows, there are flaws. CD1, track 1, 1:16, it goes from a show recorded in just the right channel, to both channels. CD1, track 10, 5:33 - 5:36, there is a sound like that of a short in the microphone(s) wires. Same sound can be heard on CD2, track 1, 00:07. There is an odd sound like the music skipped a couple of beats on CD2, track 8, 2:18. Plus there is phasing throughout. This show ends during "2112", and is the most complete version of this date I have.

2-29-92       Curiously Strong

2CD AD EX

2-29-92 On The Bay Front

2CD (UI) AD EX-

"Curiously Strong" (CS) is EX, barely, but still EX. "On The Bay Front" (OTBF) is EX-, but very, very close to just barely making EX. The bass on "CS" has better mid-bass, but it's not as punchy. Geddy's vocals aren't quite as tinny on "CS". "OTBF" has better bottom end and is punchier, yet not as clear in the mid-bass. The rest is just too close to call.

      Orlando Arena, Orlando, Florida
3-2-92   A Full House

2CD SB EX-

This show has spots where the quality does change due to the microphone(s) being blocked by someone walking by or the taper moving, however it still sounds really good for 90-95% of the show. Although the loss of quality at times did end up lowering the strength within the rating, it would have still received an EX-, just firmer is all. The quality changes are that of a high VG+, and low EX-. These spots generally don't last very long and no music is lost. As for the rest of the show, the only thing that kept it from receiveing an EX, is that Geddy's Bass, IMO, isn't as up front as I need.

2CD (SHN) AD EX-

In audio CD format, this is a 2CD show. The biggest musical mistake by "RUSH" that I have ever heard occured during this show when all 3 messed up and it took awhile for them to recover. This happens during CD1, track 5, "Time Stand Still". Don't get me wrong, this is not a complaint. I like mistakes, especially from "RUSH" who is so tight, and near perfect every song and every show.

There really isn't a way yet to know which night this is guaranteed to be from. The tour is correct, it's the date that is in question. Geddy never speaks German other than possibly one time when his words were uncomprehendable. The quote, unquote, words he did say were in a strange voice, and do sound like German for the first couple of words, but after that they just run together. The very last part of the last word is *tion*. We do get to hear 2 more spots of virtual no English. The first spot is either in Japanese, or at least of Oriental descent and played over the sound system, so this is a part of the song itself. The final spot has Alex speaking in pure giberish. All 3 spots are on the same track. Sadly we never hear German being spoken by the audience either. The part where Geddy would have announced where they were, was edited out. I think I hear someone speaking English in the background (once, maybe twice) with an American southern accent. Again, this is in no way proof of date. Personally, I really don't believe this show was in Germany, or overseas for that matter. That's just my .02 worth.

5-1-92                 All The Rolls We Played

2CD (SHN) AD VG+

In audio CD format, this is a 2CD show. There are 2 spots where the sound changes for long enough, and to the degree I felt I needed to comment on it. This show was recorded too high, and from it the bottom end suffers.

CD2, track 8, around 00:50, there are several clicks that sound similar to digital clicks, but aren't. The closest I could come on what they are is that someone tapped their fingernail on the microphone(s) a few times.

      Riverport Amphitheatre, St. Louis, Missouri
6-12-92  Noah's Ark

CD2, track 10, has a scratchy type of noise at the 10 second mark that lasts for about 2 seconds, and 2 more that are less prominant around 1:20 & 3:25. Then there are several at the end of track 10, and a few more into track 11. These is some diginoise from the source tape. The Encore is missing from the "2112" part of the medley. For an SB, this show for some reason is a little tinny, otherwise it would have easily received an EX! All of the above may sound bad on paper, but let me tell you, this show sounds great!

This is the last night of the tour. There are a couple of spots that have filler from another show. Although the sound is crisper for the filler parts, the rating doesn't change.
