3-1-81       Exit... Stage Right

2CD AD EX-

3-1-81                 Moving Pictures Tour/Chicago

2CD X AD EX-

The track "Working Man" has some skipping noises during the drum solo. The date on the inserts say 2-22-81, but actually it is from 3-1-81. This is a Remaster of "Exit... Stage Right" ("E... SR"). In one way this version does sound better than "E... SR", and yet overall I don't think it's as good.

3-1-81    Mystery Eyes

2CD AD EX-

The beginning of CD1, track 2 does have a spot where the taper drops the microphone(s) and gets blocked, but after that we get to hear a nice quality show.

3-1-81        Every Nerve Aware

2CD AD EX-

As with most boot shows, it has flaws. There are a few rough spots due to the tape source, including some edited spots, but nothing bad. This show was recorded too high, with the worst spot for this on CD1, track 10. The taper dropped the microphone(s) a few seconds after track 2, on CD1 starts. I would give this show a high EX-, and even though all 4 of these shows are rated the same, this version is the best one!!!

      Cobo Arena, Detroit, Michigan
3-15-81       No Title

2CD (SHN) NI AD VG-

In audio CD format, this is a 2CD show. This show starts a few minutes into "2112: Overture" or "Temples Of Syrinx" and ends 50 seconds into "Working Man". There are a few digital ticks throughout with CD2, track 2, "The Trees", having a handfull of them. Plus this track is cut short.

Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
3-23-81                 Toronto's Last Stand - Part 1   (of 3)

2CD AD VG

This recording is clean, and everything except Geddy's vocals are even in the mix, with Geddy being more up front. However, it sounds like the taper was at the back of the arena. This show contains part 1 of an interview of Geddy from a "CHUM FM 'Special Of The Week' " that is interesting. Part of what he talks about is what the original name of "Tom Sawyer" was, as well as the plans for what became "Exit... Stage Left". This is a 3 Date/6CD set. I will break up the set if you would like.

Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
3-24-81                 Toronto's Last Stand - Part 2   (of 3)

2CD AD VG+

This show has part 2 of the Interview with Geddy from the "CHUM FM 'Special Of The Week' ". Here he talks about the recording of "Moving Pictures" digitally. This is a 3 Date/6CD set. I will break up the set if you would like.

3-24-81        Living In The Limelight

2CD AD EX-

Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
3-25-81                Toronto's Last Stand - Part 3   (of 3)

2CD AD VG

This show has part 3 of the Interview with Geddy from the "CHUM FM 'Special Of The Week' ". Plus, in this segment we get to hear "Terry Brown" talk about digital recording, and how it works. This is a 3 Date/6CD set. I will break up the set if you would like.

3-25-81     Pictures Projected

2CD AD VG+

CD2, track 5 has several LP sounding pops. There are a few other LP sounding pops scattered every so often throughout. Between this version of this date, which is from a 2nd gen source, and "Toronto's Last Stand", which is from a 1st gen source, this version sounds better. This even with the added tape hiss due to the extra generation from the Master source.

Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Phoenix, Arizona
4-4-81       Pictures Of Phoenix

2CD AD VG

This show is a high VG.

4-4-81    Phoenix Rising

2CD AD VG

CD1, track 5, starting at 00:52, there is a 2 second gap of no music. You will want to turn the Bass way down, if not all the way off starting somewhere on CD2. The bass frequencies at this point come in and out alot, where as everything else is fine. The best version of this date is for sure "Pictures Of Phoenix".

Tarrant County Convention Center *OR* Fort Worth Convention Center, Fort Worth, Texas
4-12-81                 Moving Pictures Tour/Fort Worth

2CD X AD VG

Track 10, on CD1 I rate VG- at best. CD1, some of "The Trees" is missing, as well as at least 2 more tracks are missing small parts. Some of the tracks have a lower volume, otherwise this show would have received a good VG+.

4-12-81     For What It's Worth

2CD AD G

There are places where the left and right channels are unbalanced. The worst part of all is that there is clipping throughout, otherwise it would have received a VG.

4-12-81                    For What It's Worth - Platinum Edition

2CD AD VG+

This show has a few spots of sound quality changes that last more than a few seconds, so rating it was tough. It was recorded too high, thus it does have distortion, but for the most part it is tolerable.

      Municipal Auditorium, New Orleans, Louisiana
4-19-81      Closer To The Magic

2CD AD VG

4-19-81        Paz's Attic Release #4

2CD AD VG+

A couple of the songs have parts missing. There is some phasing, and the microphone(s) are blocked a few times as well.

Madison Square Garden, New York/Manhattan, New York
5-18-81  Picture This

2CD AD VG

Nassau County Coliseum, Long Island/Uniondale, New York
5-20-81    An Angular Mass

2CD AD VG+

From track 6 at 00:55 on "Natural Science", to track 12 at 2:21 of "2112: Finale", the quality drops to a muddy VG-. It sounds like the microphone(s) may have been blocked in some way.

Providence Civic Center, Providence, Rhode Island
5-24-81  Short Takes

1CD AD EX-

Tracks 1-6, are from 5-24, and tracks 7-10, are from San Diego Sports Arena, San Diego, California on 9-30-77, that I rate AD VG.

5-24-81     Streets Of Diversity

2CD AD EX-

This is 1 of 2 parts of the "Digital Rush Experience 4th Anniversary Boxset". The other is, "2-26-83 Excitement So Thick". This is a 2 Date/4 Show set. I will break up the set if you would like.

      Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, Oakland, California
6-6-81                 Moving Pictures Tour/Oakland

2CD X AD VG

This release is missing part of "The Trees", and something like 2 more tracks are partially missing.

Long Beach Arena, Long Beach, California
6-14-81    Moving Stage

2CD X AD VG+

6-14-81                        6/14/81   Long Beach Arena   (Raw Transfer)

2CD X AD VG+

This version of this date has "Freewill", and was transfered from a double audio tape by "DRT" called "Tom Sawyer". The only thing tweeked for this "(Raw Transfer)" is that the balance was corrected. CD1, track 5, from 3:53 - 3:58 and again on CD1, track 7, from 00:26 - 00:30, there is tape munch. It isn't as bad as normal tape munch though. The intro to "YYZ" is missing. Thi is the best version of this date, and is a high VG+.

      Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California
6-16-81                        Caught In The Camera's Eye

2CD AD VG+

6-16-81 Atmospheric Disturbance

2CD AD VG+

6-16-81 Anaheim, CA 6-16-81 - The Definitive Edition

2CD AD EX-

6-16-81     The Feverish Flux

2CD AD VG+

This show has some phasing throughout, but not constantly. CD1, track 2, "Freewill", has a quick zap at 3:31.

6-16-81                         Anaheim '81 - The Definitive Edition - Remastered

2CD NI AD EX-

Between this version and "Anaheim 81 - The Definitive Edition", I cannot tell any difference. The track times for CD1 for both versions are identical to the second. The total time difference is only 11 frames, which is about 13% of a second shorter is all. CD2 for this version does have a few tracks with different times, and is 11 seconds shorter. As for which version is best, I cannot say. Since the non Remastered version is better known throughout the trading community, I would recommend getting it instead of this one.

      Seattle Center Coliseum, Seattle, Washington
6-19-81  No Title

2CD NI AD VG+

This show is a low VG+. CD2 has some spots with tape stretch or munch, and there are a couple of dozen light volumed ticks every so often throughout both CD's.
