Track 1 ends ubruptly and seems to be from an earlier performance the same night that I rate AD VG-. Starting with track 2 the sound quality improves. There is an odd metallic sound nearly throughout that includes some tape wear and phaseing, otherwise this show would have gotten an EX-.

The main show is a low EX-. There are 9 bonus tracks on this CD. 3 of them are from 2 different concerts. 3 others sound to me like the official studio released versions of non live songs. Then there are what may be Demos for "Jailbreak" and "Let There Be Rock". They are both slightly different than the officially released versions.

Bons Last Show |
2CD NI SB EX-
|
If Bon Scott was more up front in the mix, this show would have gotten an EX. The intro to this release has a 1:16 guitar only section, that as a guess is from a soundcheck. The bonus part fades out and the actual concert starts on the same track. This same track has digital clicking for the first 45 seconds. I am not sure if it was mastered this was or not. Sadly the digital clicks reappear at the end of CD1, track 2 and into about 30 seconds of track 3. The rest of the tracks are fine. This show was nearly 18 months before Bon Scott died.

|
This show was performed about a month after the beginning of the "Back In Black Tour". There is a quick click on CD1, track 6, "Bad Boy Boogie", at 5:58 and again at 11:33. CD1, track 7, "Highway To Hell", at 1:23 cuts out for about half a second. CD2, track 6, "Let There Be Rock", at 4:01 has a quick zap. For a VG rated show, this show is still worth getting if you like VG+ or better shows.

The volume and sound quality goes up on CD1, track 1, 1:31. There are a couple of times there is an odd bleed over sound that occurs. This show was on an LP at some point. The last minute or so of track 10 "Whole Lotta Rosie" someone has the sound bouncing back and forth between speaker channels. This continues until about 4:15 on track 11, during the leads for the most part. This show cuts out momentarily a couple of times.

There are a couple of rough spots from the tape. There is a small gap at track 11, 6:01. Tracks 1-5 at some point was recorded too high, and I rate them SB EX- barely. Track 6 is a cover tune, "Born To Be Wild", by Buffalo Springfield I believe it is, and I rate it SB EX. Tracks 7-9 are more Demos, and I rate them SB EX- and EX. Track 10 is a Live song that I rate AD EX- barely. Track 11 is another Demo track and I rate it SB EX+.

This is a full soundboard show. There are a couple of spots where the volume drops to near nothing with one of them being for 30 seconds. There is one spot for the last minute on one of the CD's where just the right channel drops out. These few problems are worth getting such a killer piece of rock concert history, and as an SB to top it off!!! Sad to say that my CD5 has digital clicking. The rest of the 6CDs are fine. To be honest, I didn't listen to Bob Welch or Dave Mason, so for those 2 groups only, I cannot swear to an accurate rating and if any problems exist. However, I did scan through them to see if their part of this 6CD release was consistant with the rest of it, and it was.

There is a rather cool bonus track on this CD that has Jimmy Page doing a bluesy song called "Rock Me" that I rate AD VG. Sadly, most of the music comes out the right side for this track only. When I Came Down  |
1CD (FLAC) SB VG- to EX-
|
In audio CD format, this is a 1CD show. Sadly, it is a little over 17 minutes long is all. This release is a collection of samples and studio sessions played by the Pre - Black Sabbath band called "Earth". The last track, "Thomas Jam (With Jim Simpson)" has a Trumpet believe it or not. Toward the end of this song we get to hear an early version of a Sabbath song. I cannot recal which one, even though I should be able to. I think it's N.I.B., but I won't swear to it.

This show just barely gets my VG+ rating if it deserves it at all. Most of track one and from 4:42 to the end at 6:17 on track 9 (which is also the end of the CD) has significant tape static. Track 4 between 7:01 and 7:10, there are about 20 digital clicks. Track 9 has 5 non back to back spots where there is a quick zap with less than a second of music missing each time.

This show was recorded too high, thus we get fuzzy distortion. There is rough editing between a few of the tracks. Track 3 at 00:59, there is a quick spot of missing music that lasts well under a second. Track 3 from 2:38 - 2:44 there is an odd scratchy sound, and at 2:44 there is an editing of the music with no gap.

This show was taken from an LP at some point, because there are some ticks throughout. I believe that some of these are LP tracking errors since track 8 at 3:34 the music cuts out for less than a second. Track 9 has a few more bleep out like skips and again on track 10 at 00:20. Track 12 around 3:30 it sounds like the styli was manually moved like they do for those scratch records. This happens again on track 13 around 7:10. This show was recorded ever so slightly too high for the high end.

CD2, track 10, which is the last track, at 7:08 goes from lead guitar solo to the last 30 seconds of the song it started with, and sounds like it may be from a different show. This show contains 3 bonus tracks. The first 2 are live at the Legion Arena or Civic Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 9-78-75 and I rate them AD VG. The third is from "BBC Midlands TV" on 1-6-78 and I rate it VG. The last track is a Sabbath song from "Never Say Die" called "Junior's Eye", but has David Walker on lead vocals. He filled in briefly while Ozzy had quit the band for the first time. This song wasn't released until 9-28-78 in the USA.

The inserts have the 8-5-75 show as being at the Spectrum, Philadephia, Pennsylvannia, but this is incorrect. Tracks 6-12 are from the Civic Arena, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania show on 9-2-78. Track 7 has a quick zap around 5:00. Track 13, "Paranoid", is also from the Civic Arena on 9-2-78, but it doesn't sound as good, so I rate it SB G. The reason for this is because it has a dirty LP type of sound that deteriorates into a sound more that of digital clicking. This is the final track and it lasts 3:11.

This show is a high VG+ and could go by the title "Heavenly Hell", for which I have artwork. It could also be "War Memorial, Black And Blue On Tour", for which I do not have artwork. The source for these shows is missing "Sweet Leaf" and "Vinny Appice's Drum Solo". "Children Of The Sea" and "Paranoid" start during the first verse. CD2, track 1, "Heaven And Hell" at 8:44, the previous few seconds are started over on the CD and not by the band. CD2, track 3, at 00:16, there is CD freezing like the CD Player was having trouble tracking. If you fast forward to about 4:30 this goes away. Same CD, track 4 at 00:54, tracking problems occur again, and then digital clicking, then more track freezing problems. I stopped listening to the show at this point with 3 more tracks totaling about 22 1/2 minutes to go.

This was the final show of the "Mob Rules Tour". This show could arguably be a VG+. CD2, track 3, "Heaven And Hell", from 5:08 to 5:15 there isn't any music. It sounds to me like the 7 second gap is from taper error, because the music picks up on or at least very close to on beat, and not as if it was a gap for no reason. This was the last show of the tour with DIO, which also happens to be the last show he did with them until he rejoined them in 1992. The 2 bonus tracks are alternate takes or Demos from the Mob Rules Demo Sessions. They are "Falling Off The Edge Of The World" which I rate SB EX-. The other is "Over And Over Again", and I rate it SB EX-. If Ronnie's vocals hadn't been low in the mix, this last track would have gotten an EX.

This is a hard show to rate as far as if it is AD, SB, or FM. The "Black Sabbath Live Project" web site says this is AD & FM, but this is from one source. I doubt it is an SB recording, because Ronnie says what I would consider a bleepable word for the radio. This sounds to me like an AD recording when it comes to stereo seperation, but the audience is a liitle too quite. I think this may be an SB recording where the microphones were placed in front of the speakers, but not recorded in stereo or it was a direct feed from the soundboard in mono into 2 channels. There was some scratchy, low volmed nearly digital clicking on CD2 for maybe 15 seconds.

A few seconds after the show starts, there is a pop of some kind. Then around 1:15, about a half dozen more occur within about 15 seconds. CD1, track 6, 3:42 has what sounds like static. CD2, track 1, has about 18 ticks or digital ticks that are medium volumed. There are ticks throughout. CD2, track 7 at 3:07, there is a zap sound and an odd skip in music at 3:30 in which there is a tiny gap with maybe 3 seconds of music missing.

There are about a dozen times throughout both CD's where the music cuts out for less than a second. CD3, track 4, from around 6:30, there is digital clicking for a couple of minutes. These are low and medium volumed. CD2, track 5, about 20 seconds into it there is a quick zap type of noise. This seems to be primarily from one date. There are parts that are filled in, but they don't last very long. The sound quality does drop to VG+ though. This is still a show worth having if you like DP.

Bruce Dickinson does 3 cover tunes during his part of this CD. They are: (1) AC/DC ~ "Sin City", (2) Blackfoot ~ "Wishing Well" & (3) Deep Purple ~ "Black Night". The Bruce Dickinson part of this CD has bad radio reception for the first 3 tracks out of 9. Tracks 10-17 are the Judas Priest part of this CD, and it is really cool, because it is pre-Pain Killer Tour show, and they only did one show for this tour. The regular part of the tour started on 10-18-90 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. As with most boot shows, it has flaws. There are 2 fraction of a second gaps at the end of track 1. There are a half dozen digital clicks on track 11 around 2:00, and 2 LP sounding pops around 2:35 on track 13.

If someone where to disagree with my rating and give it an EX, they wouldn't get any kind of an argument from me. Although this show is only 73 minutes long, and on just 1CD, it does seem to be complete except for the crowd cheering to bring the band back out for the encore. Because this was in Brazil, I am guessing this was at a Festival. That is why it may be a complete show.

Like with "Accident In Brasil", if someone where to disagree with my rating and give it an EX, they wouldn't get any kind of an argument from me.The first 45 seconds or so of track 4 has an odd skipping sound. This happens again on the same track from around 4:45 to 5:00. At the beginning of track 7 medium volumed skipping occurs for a few seconds and again for a few seconds about 30 later, but this time it is very low volumed and again only lasts for a few seconds. Track 8 has the same low volumed sound, but this time it continues throughout the entire song. The low volumed sounds I feel are a bad connection. Track 12, "Laughing In The Hiding Bush" is cut short. There isn't very much difference between these two versions. "Accident In Brasil" is 1:45 longer, but what makes it longer I don't know. The track seperation is better for "Accident In Brazil" when it comes to the change from 1 - 2. For "Accident In Brasil" the bass is heavier. For "Accident In Brazil" it is crisper. Everything else IMHO is at or near identicle. My choice would be for "Accident In Brasil" even if it didn't have all of the sounds.

CD2, track 8, which is also the last track, starting around 5:30 there is low volumed digital clicking increasing to medium volume within about 30 seconds. This isn't a constant click to this point, but after that it does become constant until the end of the CD which is one minute later.

            THE TRACKS ARE
(1) "Return Of The King", which is a bonus track from the Japan released version of "The
      Chemical Wedding".
(2 & 3) "Real World" & "Confeos" are from a 3 track CD Single called "Killing Floor", which was
            released in Japan only.
(4) "Accident Of Birth" from "Accident Of Birth", or possibly the 3 track CD Single released in
England only called "Accident Of Birth", which contains this track title as a Demo bonus track.
(5) "Tears Of The Dragon" from "Balls To Picasso".
(6) "Bring Your Daughter...To The Slaughter" from "Bruce's Best Of The B-Sides, 2CD Limited
Edition", which was originally but not officially from "Nightmare On Elm Street 5. The Dream
Child" soundtrack. This song was pressed in extremly limited quantities before being
dropped from the soundtrack prior to being officially realeased. The reason it was dropped
was because Steve Harris had decided he wanted it for the next Iron Maiden release, "No
Prayer For The Dying". I only have a Front insert for this show.

This show was on an LP at some point. There is a sound heard throughout that I cannot get a hold on in order to describe. The best I think I can get is it sounds like the LP was really dirty and probably skipped alot, so they put a little extra weight on the tone arm in order to compensate. Luckily the LP is flat, but it sounds like the styli is digging in a little too much creating a scratchy high frequency extra crisp sound. Then again, it may have been that the microphones couldn't handle the high frequencies and/or was recorded to high with them. If it wasn't for these problems this show would have gotten an EX-, and could have pushed getting an EX.

Although this noise is noticeable, none of the times it happens is it obtrusive nor do they last long. Starting around 3:00 on track 8 there is some kind of static that lasts for about 45 seconds. There are 2 bonus tracks. The first one is "Dream On" done by DIO and I rate it SB EX- because in this situation it has too much fuzz on everything indicating somewhere in the process it was recorded and or transferred too high. The second song is a live version of the song DIO did for the benefit CD from heavy metal bands. The song is called "Stars" and I rate it SB VG. This last track may have gotten a low VG+ from me, but there is a buzzing sound in the right channel that occurs on and off, but mostly on for the entire song. There are a few ticks here and there throughout, especially on CD1, track 5. This show is from the Master Mini Discs > Master CD-R's > my CD-R copy. CD1, track 6 has a quick but shocking switch to and from another audio source. Then on the same track from 00:28 - 00:33 it switches to a piano only that isn't from this concert. Some of the guitar solo is cut off. These problems exist on the Master CD-R's. The crowd at times can be a bit too much. If you are a DIO fan, don't let the above problems keep you from getting this show. My comments sound worse than the show. (MD Master)

This show was eventually shut down early by the Fire Marshal's because of over crowding. The band continued to play one more song after they were told to shut it down. It is a show worth collecting even though the people near the taper just won't be quiet.

|
